My work has evolved from realization to imagination—from building final products to creating provocations that surface dilemmas and productive tensions. Working at the intersection of design and foresight, he develops integrative approaches to navigate complexity rather than simply solve discrete problems.
I synthesize methods from strategic foresight, human-centered design, and systems thinking to address challenges that resist traditional problem-solving approaches. As an Innovation Strategist at MD Anderson Cancer Center, I am developing an organizational foresight capability that supports innovation and the institution's strategic objectives.
I hold a Master's in Strategic Foresight from the University of Houston and have led design and innovation work across agency, enterprise, and healthcare environments for the past 15 years. This experience, combined with a sophisticated understanding of material, digital, and visual culture, informs my integrative approach to complex challenges.
My Areas of Practice
Research
Research is foundational in almost all of my work, combining extensive qualitative fieldwork with quantitative instruments, secondary research, and synthesis. I employ co-creative methods, prototype testing, and contextual inquiry to conduct generative and evaluative research across diverse settings, from in-home studies to workplace environments.
Foresight & Futures
I am an academically trained futurist with a Master's degree from UH, currently building a foresight capability and community of practice at MDACC. I strive to integrate design and futures methodologies to drive strategic innovation, seeking to develop a more anticipatory organization capable of navigating emerging challenges and opportunities.
Strategy
I take an elemental view of strategy as making deliberate choices and coordinating focused actions to address specific challenges. My strategy work spans products, experiences, functional capabilities, and organizational development, focusing on translating futures research into strategic issues and actionable options.
Leadership
I have extensive leadership experience building teams and departments across agency, consultative, and large, matrixed enterprise environments, including fractional leadership roles. My approach encompasses people management, project and program direction, talent calibration, and career development for professionals at all stages while effectively managing relationships up and across organizational structures.
Digital Design
I bring extensive hard digital design skills, including UX and interaction design, information architecture, voice interface design, content strategy, and prototyping. My experience includes significant shipped work developed through full product team collaboration with developers, QA, product managers, and all functional roles, delivering user-centered solutions that meet user needs and business objectives.
Physical Design
My design career began in creating immersive environments and interpretive experiences as an exhibition designer, creating meaningful experiences for spaces that serve over 2 million visitors annually. My work spans wayfinding systems, service design, creative direction for interpretive design, detailed design and construction administration, and developing office spaces, respite areas, and orientation environments that balance functional needs with user experiences.
